Yesterday we reported that a new petition on the Government website is asking it to leave the EU without a deal on March 29, 2019, in other words reverting to World Trade Organisation terms. We reminded readers about Ruth Lea’s clear explanation of why this would be a liberation, not a crisis.
The petition has been gaining around 2,000 signatures an hour, and yesterday afternoon was well above the 200,000 mark – any petition over 100,000 is automatically considered for a Commons debate.
