It has come to the attention of the women of The Conservative Woman that there are some wimmin out there who do not appreciate a compliment. Let us assure our readers – conservative ladies and gentlemen alike – that we are not these women.
Our loyal readers will already know that we are not women of the feminazi variety, constantly hunting out offence at every turn.
Nor do we co-opt the actual violence and barbarity against women, girls and children such as, but not limited to, domestic violence, rape and FGM, for our own narrow ends.
No. We appreciate the distinction between being told that you look stunning to having your genitals cut off. Such distinctions are lost on others, but not us, as we are not stupid.
Not only are the women of proudtobeaconservativewoman not stupid we are also not tiresome, humourless bores. When we were admired at a university ball by a young chap we just said thanks, as opposed to punching him in the face, either rhetorically or literally. This is called – being normal – or having manners.
So, as we said, we like an appropriately worded compliment now and again, whether it is on our writing or dare I say it our appearance. Some may say this is akin to ‘fishing for compliments’. They would be right.
