A salutary tale for the Tories from Canada

I WRITE from Western Canada as an expatriate Briton (on the voters’ roll) who follows the news back home.

To any Tory MPs who read this website and who doubt that Mrs May must be removed immediately, I have a name that should chill the blood: Kim Campbell.

In 1993, she was Conservative Prime Minister of Canada and in the General Election that year, despite initial popularity, the Tories ended up with just two seats in the Ottawa House of Commons from throughout this vast country.

Could it happen in the UK? Well, support Mrs May’s deal, keep her in office and find out at the next election, which may be sooner than you think. Will you be one of the lucky two?
