Johnson survives no confidence vote

Boris Johnson won the no confidence vote – with 211 Conservative MPs voting for him.

But with 148 MPs casting their vote against him – 20 more than voted against Theresa May who won her confidence vote with a majority of 83 in December 2018 (63% of Conservative MPs backed her and 37% voted against her), he has been delivered a mortal blow.

He will now be in office but not in power.
