WE introduced Candace Owens, the black American conservative commentator, to readers a few weeks ago.
She’s become a household name in the USA in recent years, known in conservative circles for her pro-Trump commentary and for criticising liberal rhetoric regarding structural racism, systemic inequality, and identity politics. She deserves to be acclaimed here too.
She is an original and clever cultural commentator. Her critique is serious. Her touch is light and full of humour. It’s an arresting combination.
You can find The Candace Owens Show on PragerU’s YouTube channel. In this recent episode she talks to a personal trainer on the latest (perverse and angry) social media ‘body positivity’ movement – being proud to be fat just about sums it up – and how it harms society.
I recently read a bunch of headlines applauding @MeghanMcCain for “smacking down” someone who criticized her weight. Meghan effectively said “I have a great job & a husband, so my weight doesn’t matter”.
And that is EVERYTHING that is wrong with the #bodypositivity movement. pic.twitter.com/TSlHI9atD6
