Yes, you did read it correctly, The Conservative Woman ‘candidate of the day’ is indeed Danny Alexander, the Chief Secretary to the Treasury.

Granted, Danny is not what one would describe as a ‘social conservative’, and he is of course a dreaded Liberal Democrat. But, Danny is definitely the best Lib Dem in the 2010 Parliament.

Danny inherited a financial nightmare from Labour but he has stepped up to the mark, got on with a tricky task and worked well with George Osborne over the past five years.

Unfortunately as things stand, he looks set to lose his seat to the SNP’s Drew Hendry.

He has proven himself to be hardworking, competent and bordering on sane, the first Lib Dem to exhibit such qualities. The Conservative Woman doesn’t usually advocate Lib Dems but we would back Danny over a fruitcake militant socialist from the SNP any day of the week.
