‘Tier Four’ restrictions to be widened on Boxing Day

Government sources have warned that there is a ‘high chance’ of a full national lockdown in the New Year, and ministers are expected to announce today that a swathe of areas are likely to be placed into ‘Tier Four’ restrictions from Boxing Day. Many areas in the lower tiers could also be moved to ‘Tier Three’ at this time, forcing the closure of all pubs, restaurants and ‘non-essential’ shops — Telegraph
