Tougher lockdown restrictions to come

2020 may be behind us, but lockdown restrictions are not, as the Prime Minister has warned the Government will ‘do what it takes’ to tackle the ‘new variant’ of the coronavirus. ‘It may be that we need to do things in the next few weeks that will be tougher in many parts of the country,’ Boris Johnson told Andrew Marr in an interview, hinting at a new ‘Tier Five’ level of restrictions — as supported by an adviser to Sage (see here) — which would be in place, locally or nationally, for months — Times
