No green light to start vaccinating children, ministers to be told
The Government’s Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) recently suggested that the decision on whether to vaccinate children against Covid would be left to the Prime Minister, since it is a ‘political matter. In a surprise (and welcome) U-turn, the body is expected to advise ministers against this extension of the vaccine rollout. At a meeting, members are understood to have voiced serious ethical concerns about vaccinating children, given that they rarely suffer serious illness from Covid – Telegraph
