There are rumours that rules on mask-wearing and social distancing could end on July 19th, but more and more officials are saying that they should remain in place indefinitely. Earlier this month, a leading member of Sage said that face masks should stay ‘forever‘. She has been joined by a leading official in the World Health Organisation who says that masks should not be phased out yet because Covid variants will inevitably ‘break through the vaccine-related protection in a few people’ – Sky News
