Boris Johnson will order pubs and restaurants to close at 10pm, tell workers ‘stay home if you can’ and demand police crack down hard on rule breakers
The government will impose a set of new restrictions on liberty today to begin on Thursday. The ‘back to work’ drive is to be dropped and a 10pm curfew will be set on bars and restaurants. Pubs and other venues will be allowed to serve seated customers only and drinkers will be banned from gathering in crowds. The chief medical officer Chris Whitty has suggested these measures are crucial to break ‘unnecessary links between households’ – Mail
