The horrifying story broke yesterday that four sheriff’s deputies failed to enter Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida during last week’s mass shooting that left 17 dead.

The reaction has only just begun. National Review’s Jim Geraghty asks: ‘What is the point of changing our laws if the police cannot rise to the challenge of enforcing them?’
