Don’t pander to the woke pronoun lie

-

WHEN people state their ‘preferred pronouns’, whether it be on badges or at the end of e-mails, they are just doing what that greengrocer did when he placed in his window, among the onions and carrots, the slogan ‘Workers of the World, Unite!’

You remember the shopkeeper and the sign he did not really believe in, right? Vaclav Havel wrote about him in The Power of the Powerless. Havel was a political dissent in the communist regime and went on to become the first president of the Czech Republic from 1993 to 2003.

Havel: ‘I think it can safely be assumed that the overwhelming majority of shopkeepers never think about the slogans they put in their windows, nor do they use them to express their real opinions. That poster was delivered to our greengrocer from the enterprise headquarters along with the onions and carrots. He put them all into the window simply because it has been done that way for years, because everyone does it, and because that is the way it has to be. If he were to refuse, there could be trouble. He could be reproached for not having the proper decoration in his window; someone might even accuse him of disloyalty. He does it because these things must be done if one is to get along in life. It is one of the thousands of details that guarantee him a relatively tranquil life “in harmony with society”, as they say.’

Havel continued: ‘The slogan is really a sign, and as such it contains a subliminal but very definite message. Verbally, it might be expressed this way: ‘I, the greengrocer XY, live here and I know what I must do. I behave in the manner expected of me. I can be depended upon and am beyond reproach. I am obedient and therefore I have the right to be left in peace.’

Havel’s shopkeeper was ‘living within a lie’ under the Communist regime. Today we are being asked to ‘live within a lie’ under the Woke regime. A good example of this is when you are asked to ‘state your pronouns’. You are in fact being asked to lie; you are being tested to see if you will conform to the idea that you can choose your sex. In addition, when you are ordered to ‘respect’ other people’s pronouns that do not reflect reality, you are being asked to live within a lie.

This test of conformity is being rolled out in the public and private sector when people are directed to ‘state their pronouns’. If you refuse you will be exposed as a ‘dissident’, someone who is dangerous to state and society. You will be smoked out and ‘cancelled’.

Last week it was revealed that ‘people working at the Visa, Status and Immigration Services department were instructed to say in their emails whether they are a man, a woman, or non-binary. This means they have to say if they are he/him if they are a man, she/her if they are a woman or they/them if they are non-binary and do not describe themselves as a man or a woman’.

Many employees will conform to this woke regime, not because they really believe that you can change sex but because they want to ‘be left in peace’. They want to get on and get promoted, which often means going woke. A word of advice: don’t do it. We should all dissent.

When you collaborate with the woke regime you are not doing something small: you are capitulating and surrendering to a system that you think will leave you in peace, but will crush you if you don’t go along with it. The more you capitulate the more ridiculous the demands from the gender overlords will become.

Forcing people to state their pronouns is a form of compelled speech. It is forcing you to endorse the mad theory (that until only a few years ago was rightly relegated to the outposts of the gender studies departments in some Godforsaken university) that you can choose your sex or gender – the two being hopelessly conflated now.

The dictators say this is all about keeping people safe, and comfortable, and having an ‘inclusive work environment’. But you see how comfortable they will make you feel should you refuse to go along with this nonsense of stating your pronouns. You will find out quickly how inclusive they are – which will not be very inclusive at all. It will in fact be colder than Siberia.

The truth is that you cannot choose your sex. Gender roles might be up for debate, and can change over time, but you cannot choose your sex, and pronouns (in general signify) someone’s sex. Ordering people to state their pronouns and by extension compelling people to ‘respect’ the pronouns of others, compels people to endorse the political ideology that you can choose your sex. You cannot. No person in a democratic society should be forced to endorse an ideology or to live a lie.

At least there was some truth to the idea of workers of the world uniting – some workers did unite in the form of trade unions. But no man can ever become a woman. He might change his clothing, hairstyle or even his body. But he’s still a man for ever more. Anyone who tries to tell you otherwise is a liar. So don’t pander to this lie – it only makes things worse.
