WHATEVER politically correct duress we are put under, whatever the undermining of our democracy and corruption of the Mother of Parliaments which used to shine like a beacon across the world, however much we are taught to revile our history to tell lies, I don’t believe ‘they’ will ever succeed in repressing the British sense of humour.
Satire and wit will always out on TCW as long as we continue. How lucky we are to have writers who make us LOL and a lot! The talented Nick Booth and Alan Ashworth have been joined this week by our arts and culture correspondent Robert James – and with what an offering!
It took something to knock Alan’s ‘Steaks are high in the war on vegans’ into second place for my pick of the week (do read it if you haven’t yet) but suffice it to say, Robert’s fly-on-the-wall drama ‘Overheard at Boris and Carrie’s’ did just that.
It is clever and funny and brilliantly for TCW, on TCW – until, I fear, its author is ‘discovered’. He should be.
