On my wanderings through Twitter I have had the honour of being blocked by both James O’Brien at LBC and the Labour MP Stella Creasy because, to borrow one my favourite lines, ‘they can’t handle the truth’.
They are both Lefties so I can’t say I am that surprised. However, I was surprised, nay taken aback if you will, to find out after taking my usual break from Twitter during Holy Week that one Ms Carrie Symonds has also blocked me from viewing her tweets, which is very interesting indeed.
Who is Carrie Symonds, I hear you ask. Why, dear reader, she is the communications chief of the Conservative Party. Her full title is Conservative Campaign Headquarters Director of Communications.
I can honestly say I am not too sure how to take this, especially as I don’t even follow her. (It is like not being invited to that party you didn’t even want to go to. Deep down, deep, deep down, it still hurts.) That is how uninterested I am in communications from CCHQ.
Still, you would think that they might want to get some communications out there to a website that promotes conservatism. I sense, however – this is just a feeling – that our brand of conservatism is just a bit too conservative for the Conservatives.
So there we have it, folks, a very interesting turn of events. Just remember the tag line for the website – The Conservative Woman, the philosophy not the party. Maybe we should make that a bit bigger.
