ON Tuesday the 22nd of January, Covington High School, Covington Latin School and Covington’s diocesan offices in the United States were closed due to threats of violence and will reopen when it is safe to do so, according to a diocesan statement reported by the Cincinnati Enquirer.
In plain English, a Catholic school in the United States was shut down yesterday owing to security concerns following a fake news story about one of their pupils ‘harassing’ a Native American.
It turned out that the pupil, Nick Sandmann, stood and smiled, or ‘smirked’ after Nathan Phillips approached a group of Catholic teenagers and banged his drum in his face.
In fact, after it became clear that the Hate Stream Media accusation that Sandmann had harassed or mocked Phillips was baseless, they then said no matter, he was guilty of a Facecrime.
Nick Sandmann had the temerity to stand there and smile at Nathan Phillips, instead of disappearing into thin air or perhaps getting down on his knees and asking for forgiveness for being white and male and Catholic, as the Left would demand. The smile was as bad as any harassment, the Left said. It was smug. It was a Facecrime.
In his book 1984, Orwell wrote thus: ‘The smallest thing could give you away. A nervous tic, an unconscious look of anxiety, a habit of muttering to yourself – anything that carried with it the suggestion of abnormality, of having something to hide. In any case, to wear an improper expression on your face (to look incredulous when a victory was announced, for example) was itself a punishable offence. There was even a word for it in Newspeak: facecrime, it was called.’
Again, just to be clear about what is happening in the United States right now, a highly misleading video of a teenager smiling was launched on Twitter by an account that is now suspended.
The mainstream media such as CNN and MSNBC and others ran with this film, calling it a ‘heartbreaking’ viral video of a white boy racially abusing a Native American. The blue-tick Twitter mob then piled on calling for the Catholic boys to go ‘hats first into the woodchipper’ (Hollywood producer Jack Morrissey). Others asked for them to be punched in the face or shot on sight.
Comedian and actress Kathy Griffin demanded their names, presumably so she could release their personal details to her 2million-plus followers. Other smaller Twitter mobsters demanded the kids be raped by priests and locked in the school and to ‘burn it down’. It was a feeding frenzy.
Unsurprisingly perhaps, then, the school was shut yesterday through security concerns.
All of this because Nick Sandmann was ‘smiling while white’. He had committed a Facecrime.
It won’t stop here. The next time someone will not have the appropriate facial expression when someone mentions they are transgender. Maybe a woman, when faced with a man in a bathroom (who claims to be a woman) displays an ‘unconscious look of anxiety’ that was caught on a phone and posted online. Prepare for your life to be put in danger.
Maybe you have a ‘nervous tic’ when it comes to gay marriage. You just don’t think it is a fabulous idea – prepare to lose your job.
Just be prepared, should your kids ever have what a Leftist will deem to be wearing an ‘improper expression’ because they will demand for your kids to be shot, punched in the face and raped. And then things get so bad, your kids can’t even go to school.
And don’t think that if you opt out of this and just keep your head down you’ll be OK. That would mean ‘you have something to hide’. And everyone has a mobile phone so you can’t hide, even if you wanted to. The dystopia is here. Don’t bother asking me, how did it come to this? This is how it came to this.
