A RECENT article in City Journal called ‘The Miseducation of America’s Elites‘ makes depressing reading. It is what we have come to accept, though, and recounts a familiar tale. Children sent even to the most expensive of private schools in the US are taught that capitalism is evil, that America is a bad country and that they bear collective racial guilt. Writer Bari Weiss describes the atmosphere of fear inculcated in both children and parents as they are educated in resentment and fear – the product of an oppressive woke educational revolution that has possessed the entire sector.
Her stories come from the few ‘dissident’ parents’ groups who dared speak to her – parents who use pseudonyms and turn off their videos for clandestine Zoom calls. Once they co-ordinated soccer practices and carpools, now they come together to strategise. They believe they could face profound repercussions if anyone knew they were talking.

After that it was a relief to come across the fearless Project Veritas, set up by James O’Keefe to investigate corruption, fraud and misconduct in public office, which is fighting back against Big Tech censorship.
Predictably demonised by the Left (check it out on Wikipedia and you will find it labelled a far-right activist group), in fact it is engaged in the type of investigation of abuse of power that the Left once regarded as its territory. At the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), American thought leaders sat down with O’Keefe as well as two whistleblowers from Facebook and Google to talk about Big Tech bias.
Project Veritas was recently permanently suspended by Twitter but O’Keefe’s fearlessness is uplifting.
‘Even if we are removed from these platforms, we still have to be talked about on these platforms. That means the stories have to be strong enough where we force them to talk about it,’ he says.
