WRITING to TCW Defending Freedom, a reader suggested there should be more ‘balancing pieces’, presumably to oppose the slant of ‘anti-vaxx contributors’.
However, there is already a multitude of pro-vaxx publications available to read – aka the mainstream media, carrying out the Government’s work leading up to and during the Covid vaccine rollout.
Outlets such as TCW Defending Freedom are the opposition, offering a different take on the official government narrative. Informed consent requires a rounded understanding of the risks and benefits of any treatment, what to expect if no treatment is given and details of any alternative forms of treatment.
The mainstream media has failed on all counts. Worse, it has herded an anxious and terrified public towards taking an experimental treatment which does not prevent transmission and is proving to be harmful to many in the short term. Long-term effects are as yet unknown.
The letter to TCW Defending Freedom claims the vaccinations have saved a lot of people from dying, from the risk of being seriously ill and possibly infecting friends and family. These claims are referred to as ‘the basic Covid truths’ from which all opinion and arguments about vaccination must start.
But none of these is a truth. In regard to the Covid vaccines saving lives, it is impossible for government or anyone else to prove beyond doubt that 112,300 lives have been saved as a direct result of the vaccination rollout.
This is because a) no one was tested for naturally-acquired immunity prior to vaccination; b) there is no way of knowing whether someone would have died from/with/of Covid had they not been vaccinated; c) there are no details as to which other treatments were administered in hospital for those who had been admitted with Covid post-vaccination (or even if their admission to hospital was a direct result of vaccination); and d) the vaccination data is against a background of both Alpha and Delta variants, with Delta being far less deadly.
The same goes for any reduction in serious illness. This may explain why Public Health England – the agency whose purported aim is to improve the nation’s health and wellbeing – so often falls back on terminology such as ‘suggested’, ‘estimated’ and ‘indicated’.
As there are currently more daily deaths from/with/of Covid (or ‘for any reason’ within 28 days of a positive Covid test than this time last year – when there were no Covid vaccines and a more pathogenic variant – this would, to use a favoured PHE term, indicate that not only are the vaccines not working, they could be making things worse.
Furthermore, as efficacy (such as it is) wanes, boosters will be needed every six months, thereby increasing the risk of an adverse event with every single jab.
The King’s College, London, ZOE app, which does test for prior immunity, recorded an increase in the severity of adverse events for those with naturally-acquired immunity.
It also found in regard to the elderly – i.e. the very people the vaccine was supposed to save (in spite of a trial cohort of healthy 16-55 year olds) – that ‘individuals who had health conditions that limited their independence, such as frailty, were more at risk of Covid-19 infection after vaccination, and of getting sick’.
The same was found for those living in areas of high deprivation or who had unhealthy lifestyles.
With no political opposition, a compromised media and regulator, thousands of silent GPs (though many have spoken out), an AWOL church and only a handful of MPs standing up against mandatory vaccination of care home workers and the vaccinating of children, there is an absolute need for outlets such as TCW Defending Freedom, Off-Guardian, The Daily Sceptic, UK Column et al to oppose.
Writers on sites such as these trawl the PHE, the Office for National Statistics, the NHS, the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention, the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System, and other government data sites from around the world to provide a fuller and alternative picture to the prevailing narrative, skewed as it is towards a single message; that vaccines are safe, efficacious and everybody needs one.
Unlike governments and conventional news outlets, contributors to these sites are mostly unpaid citizen journalists, doctors, scientists and mathematicians who have no conflicting interests. Maybe these citizen journalists simply believe that everyone has the right to informed consent.
‘Democracy Dies in Darkness’ is the slogan of the once-mighty Washington Post, an expression since hijacked by Congress from a paper now owned by Jeff Bezos.
But just because mainstream journalists are unwilling to challenge the narrative, it does not mean the narrative should be accepted or remain unchallenged. Especially if the cure turns out to be worse than the disease.
The TCW Defending Freedom reader states: ‘I know nothing about viruses … but I do know that I’d rather be vaccinated’. But this is not the same as needing to be vaccinated.
Those who opted for vaccination did so for many reasons. To protect others, to be able to travel, to get back to normal and/or because they believed it was of medical benefit to them.
But they believed this only because the Government’s taxpayer-funded nudge unit of spin psychologists successfully convinced them that Covid – with a survival rate of 99.5 to 99.98 per cent for most patients, and with the majority of deaths in the over-80s – was akin to Spanish flu and enough of a threat to lock down the entire country.
Considering that not only do the frail have a higher chance of contracting and becoming sick as a result of being vaccinated, that vaccine efficacy wanes, that there is no reward (only risk) for children, and that the Covid vaccines have been found to damage the immune system, it wouldn’t be unreasonable to infer that nobody needs to be vaccinated.
But you won’t read that in the mainstream media.
