In response to Julian Flood: How the Energy Minister failed his MOT,

The Labour Party wish to ban extraction of our own natural gas by fracking and import it instead, thereby increasing our balance of payments deficit. Our allegedly Conservative Government conspires with them by placing impossible conditions on extracting our own gas by fracking. Meanwhile, Michael Gove, Secretary of State for the Environment, would rather follow the naive instructions of a 16-year old Swedish schoolgirl than support British industry. No doubt our wise Members of Parliament will soon declare a ‘Climate Emergency’ and enact further legislation to cripple industry and load energy costs on to domestic consumers; all for the sake of reducing 1 per cent of the world’s emission of carbon dioxide, a gas essential to plant life and, through photosynthesis, the oxygen we breathe.
