LET’S be clear. This isn’t about racism and this certainly is not about Harry and Meghan wanting a quiet, private life of dignity and respect. This is about narcissism, this is about self-obsession and this will ultimately be about them continuing to lecture us all about what we should do, what we eat and how many kids we should have. These lectures will be paid for by the public, as it is laughable to believe Harry and Meghan can ever become ‘financially independent’. The only reason those who hold the cheque books will be interested in their views is because they are members of the royal family.
Remember when Harry said ‘what Meghan wants, Meghan gets’? Well, Meghan wants to have her cake and eat it. Many commentators don’t appreciate what this means, but it is there in black and white. The announcement is: ‘After many months of reflection and internal discussions, we have chosen to make a transition this year in starting to carve out a progressive new role within this institution. We intend to step back as “senior” members of the Royal Family and work to become financially independent, while continuing to fully support Her Majesty The Queen.’
This is not about Harry and Meghan going quietly into the night; what they want is a ‘progressive new role within this institution’. In other words, they want to be able to give their leftist views using the royal platform. They don’t want to be traditional members of the royal family; they want to be royal celebrities and use their royal connections to push a leftist agenda. Harry is going to make the Duke of Windsor, who abdicated to marry the divorcee Wallis Simpson, look like a model son and Royal.
We certainly know what Meghan and Harry don’t want: the dull protocol, the service to the public, the boring plaque-unveiling events in the North of England. Most of all they don’t want the burden of duty and tradition.
Crucially, Meghan certainly does not want to do the one thing that all royals must do, the one thing that keeps the whole show on the road: keep her mouth shut.
Meghan didn’t want to give up that which is most important to her, but the one thing that is most important to give up if you are in the royal family: her voice and her opinions. I can understand this as I would never to do it, but then I didn’t have a great sparkly royal wedding to a prince and re-model a cottage on the public dime to the tune of nearly £3million.
So, I am sorry to say it but Harry and Meghan are a disgrace, an utter, total, gargantuan disgrace of a couple. But this, dear reader, is a very good example of the destruction that the left brings with it.
Meghan, I think it is fair to say, is an achingly PC, woke leftist. And the left wing’s views destroy because leftism is all about emotion and how one feels in the moment. Leftism hates and destroys concrete values such as duty, tradition, beauty and family.
So Meghan has burnt through her own family, she has burnt through the royal family and this announcement will probably split a fair few families up and down the land also. Write this down: leftism destroys all that is good, leaving only disaster in its wake.
If The Crown depicts some of the most traditional, conservative and Christian values, then The Crown, Meghan and Harry style, will surely illustrate the most selfish, self-entitled couple we have ever known. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, ambassadors for leftistism, purveyors of wokeness, emissaries of destruction.
