IF the West falls into a Leftist Dark Age, it will not because many people didn’t fight tooth and nail to stop it occurring. I have linked to Heather Mac Donald before and I make no apology for doing so again. She is interviewed here by the brilliant Peter Robinson at the Hoover Institute.

Heather Mac Donald explains in her latest book, The Diversity Delusion, the madness that is the US campus and academy.

Mac Donald is not one of those people who dismiss as just a phase the latest student protests that demand that society treat these, the most privileged group, as victims. This campus culture that generates the cancel culture, the trigger warnings, and the rest of it are a real and present danger to the academy and Mac Donald believes it is nothing short of a revolution.

She directly links affirmative action – the practice of admitting minority groups even though they have lower test scores – to the victim culture. Once the students with lower scores are admitted, they then struggle, and either switch degrees or blame everyone else around them for their failure.

Mac Donald points out the rank elitism of racial preferences. She also critiques the ‘campus rape industry’, dismissing it as a ‘fraud’.

Readers may wonder why I post so much material from the United States. There are two reasons: first much of this progressive nonsense finds its way into the UK and most importantly the US cannot, must not fall into a Leftist Dark Age. If it does, Western civilisation will be lost for centuries.

Mac Donald believes ‘we are putting civil peace at jeopardy because it is impossible to underestimate the degree to which students are being taught to hate not just Western civilisation but each other’.

A chilling warning.
