You won’t find us praising Sir John too often. But the Tory wet and former PM has been proved right the Union. He said devolution would lead to its break up and now he’s given a stirring speech on the dangers of a Labour government propped by up the Scots Nats.

“Let me not mince my words,” said Major. “The SNP is a real and present danger to our future. They will pit Scotland against England. That could be disastrous to the people of Scotland — and fatal to the UK as a whole.”

We aren’t too far away from an English uprising. And then the Union will well and truly be dead.
