YOU can’t have missed it. It knocked Covid and the US elections off the front page of the Times and the Telegraph yesterday. The latter’s inside story headlined the news: ‘Boris Johnson’s adviser Lee Cain resigns from Downing Street role after revolt by Carrie Symonds’.
It isn’t the first time the interference of the PM’s seemingly permanent ‘fiancée’ has been noted. In August the Mail on Sunday claimed that she stopped him from ditching the so-called transgender ‘reforms’ (backed by his predecessor Theresa May) designed to make it easier for people to change their legal gender.
Prior to that, she used her first speech as the Prime Minister’s partner to make her green views known, and she is widely believed to have influenced her boyfriend’s conversion to the climate lobby’s costly, impracticable and destructive renewable energy agenda.
Of course social media has gone wild at this further evidence of her influence and the suggestion that Johnson is but the puppet of his forceful fiancée. What Carrie wants, Carrie gets, it seems. Maybe the pair will follow the flight of the Sussexes to California. We can only hope.
I have to admit I couldn’t resist some pot-stirring on Twitter to encourage this outcome.
Well, that’s our hot topic for the week – do you agree is this one more reason why we should get this clown who is masquerading as Prime Minister out of office?
