Karen Harradine: Any Jew still voting Labour is blind to its festering anti-Semitism

No Jew should vote for Labour, support Labour or be part of Labour. The Labour Party leadership and their supporters don’t care about Jew hatred. In fact they encourage it. The evidence is there. There is a certain cognitive dissonance in denying claims of anti-Semitism while encouraging hatred of Israel and Jews at exactly the same time. The antics surrounding last week’s Labour Party conference epitomise this twisted ethos.

Labour is now a cult. Its members are bonded by hatred of the West and Israel and are in thrall to their leader, Jeremy Corbyn. They ignore reality and are so convinced of their own virtue that they cannot comprehend why anyone thinks they are the fascists they truly are.

The fact that Labour won more than 40 per cent of the vote in the last election shows me that a large number of my fellow citizens would happily vote in a Jew-hating government with Nazi tendencies. The unholy marriage between the Left, Socialists, conspiracy theorists and Islamists is gaining traction and threatens to destroy this country as we know it – tolerant, liberal, safe and free.

Despite claims of innocence from the usual suspects who ‘shill’ for Islamism, such as Ken Livingstone and Ken Loach, the stench of Jew hatred in the Labour Party cannot be masked. I have written often about Labour’s problem with anti-Semitism but this is the first time, due to the behaviour of Labour members at their conference, that I have had to invoke Godwin’s Law.

I found their cheering and applauding support for the anti-Semites who eviscerated Israel, proposed expelling the Labour Jewish movement, questioned the Holocaust and promoted Islamism via shilling for Hamas and Hezbollah, absolutely chilling. It contradicted any lip-service Labour has paid to combating anti-Semitism.

Labour moderates speak about changing Labour from within. They must know their ludicrously sanguine idea is now obsolete. If they, particularly any Jewish Labour MPs or members of the House of Lords, had any dignity and self-respect they would immediately resign from the Party. They should know that using anti-Israeli members of the Jewish faith is just camouflage.

It is incredible that most Labour members are more concerned with so-called smearing of their Dear Leader than with the festering sore of anti-Semitism consuming the party. In their haste to virtue-signal their allegiance to Islamism they claim expertise in Zionism, while revealing their complete ignorance of what the ideology really means.

They seek to excuse their anti-Semitism by proclaiming that anti-Zionism is not anti-Semitism. But, brainwashed into believing that Zionism is a dirty word, they appear unaware that the ideology basically means the self-determination of the Jewish people and our yearning to establish nationhood in the land of our ancestors. Our faith is inseparable from Israel.

Labour’s anti-Western ethos has been consummated with Islamism and is openly encouraged by the party’s leadership. As Paul T Horgan has observed elsewhere on this site, it is Corbyn’s actions and inactions that indicate anti-Semitism. His motivation seems to be to hoover up votes in Third World-heritage communities where anti-Semitism is open, accepted and encouraged. British anti-Semites know precisely what a Corbyn-run Labour government will do with regard to Israel and how it views the Jewish community.

Today there are many more voters of the Islamic faith in the UK than of the Jewish faith. Corbyn is ruthlessly using identity politics for Labour to secure their votes. The result is an irrational and malignant hatred of Israel which obscures the fact that Israel is a true rainbow nation, made up of many races and religions.

My fellow Jews should not be shocked by the disgraceful anti-Semitic antics at the Labour conference. Neither should they be upset that Corbyn chose to dance the night away, and lie about it, instead of attending the Labour Friends of Israel event. It has been obvious for a long time that Corbyn and his henchmen do not care for Jews. This was, yet again, made quite apparent during his conference speech when he cemented Labour’s commitment to Palestine.

The popular Islamist war cry of ‘From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free’ clamours for the destruction of the world’s only Jewish state. And what after that? Another Islamic theocracy would be transplanted in there instead. Labour can adopt as many rules on anti-Semitism as it likes. But none will make one iota of difference when the coterie in charge are anti-Semites and haters of Israel. These rules are another whitewash like the useless Chakrabarti report.

I write this with a certain foreboding on the eve of Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement. If Corbyn and his blackshirt henchmen are ever elected into government, and I fear this is a strong possibility, the UK will then be no place for us Jews. And Israel will yet again be a safety net for Jews fleeing persecution.
