Conservatives must stand for justice and truth, not kowtow to vicious Islamist enemies. Paul Goodman’s piece in Conservative Home on Al Jazeera’s disgraceful The Lobby has one glaring omission. It ignores the virulent anti-Semitism so endemic in Al Jazeera and Qatar.
Al Jazeera is the propaganda mouthpiece of the Qatari royal family – the despots who rule this Middle Eastern country built on slave labour. The chairman of Al Jazeera is Sheik Hamad bin Thamer Al Thani, a relation of the Emir of Qatar – Sheik Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
The Qataris are the true instigators of ‘shadowy influence’. Who is the more influential here – two friends arrogantly venting about the disgraceful politics of Alan Duncan and Crispin Blunt while being secretly filmed or Qatar’s funding of international terrorism, Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood?
Qatar is also a backer of the Jew-hating Boycott Disinvest Sanctions (BDS) campaign. And let’s not forget the millions paid in bribes by the Qatari to Fifa officials to lobby, and win, the right to hold the World Cup.
If Al Jazeera had filmed a high ranking Israeli diplomat handing over millions of pounds to British MPs or plotting the assassination of Duncan, I would have been horrified. But this is nothing more than two low-level government aides, Shai Masot and Maria Strizzolo, bigging themselves up. I really wish Mark Regev, the Israeli ambassador to the UK, had not apologised. This was a private conversation between two individuals having dinner together. I use far harsher language when talking in private about Duncan and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO). All human beings are ruled by their ego. It is our survival mechanism. Combine ego with anger and frustration about the continual poisonous drip of anti-Semitism throughout political and social discourse, and the result is the insipid fighter talk gleefully reordered by Al Jazeera spies as a supposed example of the far reaching influence of us dastardly Jews.
How disappointing for Jew haters that this, as well as the other findings in this desperate Al Jazeera piece of propaganda, amounted to nothing less than an amateurish production which Goebbels would have been proud of. For the rest of Britain, other than the Islamists, conspiracy theorists, useful idiots, left-wing media and anti-Semites, this truly was a non-story.
Jeremy Corbyn’s over-excited call for an inquiry into Israel’s ‘improper interference in this country’s democratic process,’ was rightly slapped down by Theresa May. Perhaps Corbyn needs an investigation into his own interference in our country’s democratic process, given his fawning over terrorists and his shambolic leadership of the opposition party in Parliament.
Lobbying is big business in politics. Qatar spends millions on UK parliamentary trade delegations to Doha and on PR companies, like Portland Communications, to promote a civilised façade of the despots who rule it. Al Jazeera’s so-called big scoop is another example of how Middle Eastern governments use anti-Semitism and condemnation of Israel to distract their populace from the misery and poverty inflicted by Sharia law and their own autocratic regimes.
Which is why I was surprised by Goodman’s mocking of Conservative Friends of Israel (CFI). Despite decrying CFI as lacking influence, Goodman claims that it is better resourced than other parliamentary groups. A quick search on the internet would have shown him that there are a myriad of lobbying and parliamentary groups who actively oppose Israel and are funded by unsavoury Islamist countries, like the suspect Conservative Middle East Council (CMEC). Although he exaggerates Israeli influence on UK politics, Goodman neglects to expand on the lobbying efforts of the CMEC on behalf of Islamists everywhere.
But Goodman is not the only Conservative at fault here. Blunt’s sanctimonious response to the clumsy slating of Duncan by Masot is also astonishingly hypocritical, given that he is the former chair of the Council for the Advancement of Arab-British Understanding (CAABU) – an Arabist lobbying group supported by various MPs and Hanan Ashrawi, a member of the PLO. CAABU’s mission is to change British perceptions of the Arab world – the epitome of political lobbying.
By their own admission, CAABU lobbies in Parliament for countries like Jordan and Qatar. CAABU also recently arranged a trip to the West Bank in conjunction with anti-Israel charities like Breaking the Silence, Save the Children and Oxfam. I wonder how many more ‘fact-finding tours’ are financed by Qatar, UAE and Saudi Arabia for Arabist MPs. I suspect far more than arranged by Israel. CMEC and CAABU are just two of the many lobbying groups who work tirelessly to promote Islamist interests in Parliament.
There is no equivalence between two political aides chatting over a drink and heavily funded Arabist lobbying groups. Although anti-Semites will try to persuade you otherwise. Most Britons are savvy enough to know the ‘The Lobby’ is Jew-hating drivel. But it is still a malignant gift to Israel haters like Duncan and Blunt, who are both part of the FCO. There is bitter irony to be found in the claims that the FCO works to protect the UK from terrorism while at the same time panders to its enemies and actively seeks to destroy one of the UK’s strongest allies – Israel. This is made most obvious by the involvement by the FCO in the vile UN Resolution 2234 vote.
The Al-Jazeera broadcast is a contemporary version of ‘The Protocols of the Elders of Zion’. It serves no other purpose than to embolden anti-Semites, who like to imagine that Jews are all powerful, control the world and steal their shoes.
Any Conservative who uses it to promote their own Islamist interests in Parliament or as another stick to beat Israel with should be ashamed of themselves. For if they do then they are no better than the growing band of vile Labour Party anti-Semites.
