Laura Perrins: Breaking news from the unConservative Party. How to load the dice for more state childcare

-

When can we abolish the Conservative Party? They are beyond doubt, the most treacherous, underhand group of politicians we have seen for some time – and that is saying something.

I happened to stumble across this survey by the “Conservative Party” that will no doubt be used to justify their unConservative policies coming up to the election.

It is perhaps the worst, and most shameless piece of “prompted” survey-taking I have ever read.
The first question is: Which of the following issues are most important for you and your family? (Please select a maximum of THREE responses)

The first option given is childcare. And no they are not listed alphabetically. Do they give an option of, having more family time, desire to care for my family or family friendly tax system, or ending discrimination against single-income families?

No, of course not, because they want you to tick that childcare box. Then when they propose pouring even more taxpayer’s money into the childcare industry they can tell us – but it is what the voters want.

The second question is: Which of the following issues are most important for the country as a whole? (Please select a maximum of THREE responses)

The first option given? You guessed it – childcare. This is listed as a realistic option for what is the most important issue facing the entire country. You could not make it up.

So unConservative Party, do not bother to patronise me with the “results” when you tell me everyone wants “cheaper childcare”. Of course they will say that – you have loaded the dice against caring for children at home.

Hurrah for the party that likes to dump one-year-olds in nursery. What a deceitful and hard-hearted bunch of twisters you are.
