It has finally dawned upon some feminists that not all women are Leftists. They are still scratching their heads over how Hillary Clinton could possibly have lost the US election, despite her being the worst Democrat candidate in decades. In addition the voting numbers are in and some at the Guardian have figured out that yes, many women, especially white married women, voted for Trump.
On the one hand, we are to believe that these women did so because they came under pressure from their (horrid) husbands (Hillary would know a thing or two about that), but on the other hand the Guardian’s writer Lucia Graves does, somewhere beneath all the hand-wringing, seem to understand that for many women, voting Democrat would have constituted an idiotic act of economic sabotage.
Married women are much more likely to have breadwinning husbands than their single sisters. Some of these sisters will have children and be married to the State, so it makes sense for them to vote Democrat – the party of entitlements and redistribution (although even Bill Clinton saw the necessity of reforming some of the entitlement programmes). It would go against their economic interests not to vote Democrat.
The writer seems bemused and befuddled as to why married women would not similarly vote to protect their own economic interests. Instead these women should have jumped at the chance to vote, in effect, to transfer their family’s wealth to another family they have no connection with, all so they can say: ‘I’m part of the sisterhood’!
I could have told her this and saved her a lot of hassle: conservative married women are not idiots. We do not in general seek to destroy our interests, and those of our families, for no good reason.
This is why the Left seek to destroy the family: the more marriages they can wreck and the more single mothers they can create, the greater their client/voter base becomes, children be damned. The feminists like to mock married, conservative women who are dependent on their husbands, but the evidence shows we control most of the finances. Who’s laughing now?
Just how brainwashed would you have to be to vote for someone who will centralise power and continue to push the gender pay gap propaganda?
Just how brainwashed would you have to be to metaphorically withdraw money from your own joint bank account, walk down down the street and give it to a single lady, all so you can say: ‘I voted for someone with a vagina’? Only a fool would do something like this.
This is not even about good old-fashioned redistribution of wealth from the rich to the poor. Remember, it was a Labour idea for a working man to have a ‘family wage’ so that husbands could support their families.
No, today’s feminism demands that even if you are a poor married woman you must transfer your family’s income to a richer single sister if it means closing the pay gap. This was always my problem with modern feminism. It is inherently selfish and anti-family. It buries family income under a mountain of dodgy statistics on the gender pay gap. Feminism pretends women are islands when most women, despite decades of Leftist propaganda, still seek to build and maintain families with men.
Most women do not want to live in a prim and proper sorority, or a hippy all-female commune circa 1972. They want to partner up, get married and have a family. And once that family is established it is in their interests to remain loyal to that family – husband and children. I doubt that there was much pressure put on wives to vote for Trump. Most women do not need to be pressurised into protecting their family. That, for conservative women at least, comes naturally.
This will all become clear to my Leftist feminist sisters when a non-crazy, competent woman is elected as President of the United States on a Republican ticket. She will have sensible pro-family policies that do not seek to set men against women and divide society along gender lines. She will not trash men, calling them deplorable.
Britain’s only two female Prime Ministers were/are both Conservatives. There is a reason for that: conservative women are not brainwashed fools.
