Laura Perrins: Thursday reading list

My quill has been dry the last few days for various reasons (mainly because I am too frightened to come out from under the duvet for fear of the sex pests) but I am assigning the following to the reading list for my dear readers.

This from City Journal on the identity politics of the progressives in the US is fantastic.

This is a perfect description of the modus operandi of the Democrat party:

The most remarkable fact about the postelection months has been the absolute certainty of Democrats that they have a right to rule in America, that Donald Trump is not a legitimate president, and that there is a need for resistance (now dubbed “the Resistance”) of the sort unseen in America since the 1960s.

This on the antics of the Internal Revenue Service scandal targeting conservative groups is also informative, by Melanie Philips.

Finally, this comment piece in the Catholic Herald by Alveda King, the niece of Martin Luther King, on 5th anniversary of the Abortion Act is thoughtful. She tells us:

There is no doubt that the pro-life movement is the civil rights movement of our century because it is the fundamental right of every one of every race to live. Of what use are all our other rights if we can simply choose to deny a person the right to be born in the first place?
