There is a man out there who is stalking the website. I will not name him as that is unfair, let’s just call him Sean. Perhaps that is too obvious so I will refer to him as Mr Kemp instead.
Anyway, for Mr Kemp our worthy website is the one he loves to hate. He has given us some entertaining tweets (which I admit I searched to find – I guess that makes me the stalker).
This one from Mr Kemp is a cracker – “I’m becoming obsessed by the pure horror that is the Conservative Woman website” with a link to one of my blogs.
I quite liked this one, which at least demonstrates self-awareness, “My obsession with the Conservative Woman website continues with the discovery of their ‘comment of the day’.”
My favourite must be this observation which is truly beautiful in its simplicity, “It’s a hell of a thing that website, just extraordinary.”
What I, co-editor of this extraordinary website the Conservative Woman, find extraordinary is how Mr Kemp (who I believe describes himself as a liberal) cannot believe there are people out there who hold these ‘loopy views’. Does he have absolutely no friends or acquaintances with conservative views; has he culled them from his life?
Whenever I meet someone I assume they have liberal views unless told otherwise. I understand we are a diverse nation where people hold different opinions. They are entitled to these opinions, no matter how wrong they are and how much damage they do, but I do acknowledge they exist.
In many ways, I think Mr Kemp doubts our existence. But we do exist. Heck, he is more than welcome to come round mine and enjoy a ‘heated debate’ over an old fashioned cup of tea. I might even make some of my homemade banana cake complete with apron straight out of the sepia tinted 1950s. I am nothing if not a good hostess.
So here’s to Sean Kemp (sorry I have let the cat out of the bag now). Our number one fan (in the Kathy Bates sense in the film Misery), our fearsome cheerleader, the man who so admires us from afar. It’s been a blast.
