I had not heard of obscure Labour MP Graham Jones until a Facebook friend alerted me to his page a few days ago. Obviously hoping to promote himself by jumping on to the ‘I hate Israel’ bandwagon, Jones proudly declared that he wouldn’t be celebrating the Balfour Declaration.
The reasons he gave read like a homage to Islamism – a one-sided attack on Israel, incorrectly blaming the Jewish state for the failure of peace talks.
Jones really should educate himself on the historical facts and geo-political realities of the Middle East before pontificating on Israel.
In response I wrote a comment on his Facebook page in which I explained to him how Israel is home to persecuted Christians and gays who have fled the Islamic fundamentalist regimes of Hamas and the Palestinian Authority. I reminded him that 20 per cent of Israelis are Muslim and Druze, and that some elect to serve in the Israel Defense Forces to defend their country against the Islamic theocracies that Jones supports. I told him how Palestianism was created by the Soviets and the PLO to discredit Israel.
I informed him that he is shilling for terrorist regimes such as Iran and its proxy Hezbollah, and that these monsters share the same ideology as the terrorists who murdered little girls in Manchester earlier this year.
Jones promptly deleted my comment, as well as most of those from my fellow Jews, and banned us from commenting again on his page. Apparently only Islamists have freedom of speech on his Facebook page – certainly not us pesky Jews! I guess he didn’t like being called a defender of Islamism or being told to resign for the gross irresponsibility of enabling anti-Semitism.
In the twisted virtue-signalling and arrogant world of Labour MPs, the only way to deal with dissenters is to brand them racist and ban them from speaking. Since when was standing up for Jews considered racist?
Parliament is no place for those who shoot the messenger as a means to shut down debate. If Jones is unable take responsibility for his unprovoked attack on Israel and for filling up his timeline with the usual Islamist lies, myths and half-truths about the world’s only Jewish state, he is unfit to be an MP.
