L’Oreal’s new model with the fashionably aggressive stance on Israel
The scene: A strategy meeting at the cosmetics giant L’Oreal.
The agenda: To choose a figurehead for the latest hair-care products campaign.
First suggestion: Why not use Jennifer Aniston again? She’s got lovely luxuriant locks, and everyone knows her face.
No, comes a cry from the back. Jennifer is so, you know, yesterday. I vote for the British model Amena Khan. No one could ever find fault with her barnet because they can’t see it! She wears a hijab! And she’s got fashionably aggressive views about the Israelis, describing them in a blog as child murderers.
All present: ‘Brilliant! Sign her up!’
Thus we have a woman who covers her hair being paid large amounts to advertise shampoo. Because she’s worth it.
Coming next: Fashion for the taller man, by Ronnie Corbett; Tying a cravat my way, by Jeremy Corbyn; How to send those slimy Europeans packing, by Theresa May.
We await with interest a statement from L’Oreal on Amena’s virulent anti- Israel views but we note that her tweets on this matter have already been deleted ….
