BBC journalists are being paid 40 per cent more than their equivalents in the private sector.
A leaked report shows how more than 1,000 BBC senior broadcast journalists had an average pay of £49,000, forty per cent more than the average of £35,000 at other networks. Auntie’s army enjoys the fruits of pushy unions who have ensured above-average pay rises for many in the Corporation.
It seems the BBC suffers from junior doctor syndrome – clearly it is too good to suffer the public sector pay freezes endured by police officers and many other public servants.
For all its reporting of ‘Tory austerity’, the biased Beeb is too bloated for its own good.
