Former BBC gravy train pilot Lord Patten is angry that the BBC may have to stop throwing around its super-sized weight.
He said that it was “ridiculous” that the Beeb would have to reconsider chucking the kitchen sink at prime time slots to squash commercial rivals.
The BBC could only thrive if it could stop “continually looking over its shoulder”.
A better posture would be for it to get back to its founding principles of informing, educating and entertaining the public.
