The right-on community recoiled in horror as an animation mistake was revealed in the popular children’s series Fireman Sam.

One of the show’s characters slipped on a piece of paper which bears resemblance to a section of the Koran. The show’s makers “sincerely apologise” and maintain that “the page was intended to show illegible text” and that they “deeply regret this error”.

Naturally, the internet went into meltdown, accusing the children’s show of “shocking Islamophobia”.

Despite the fact this was clearly a mistake, it came as no surprise that some are all too keen to jump to conclusions.
