Westminster may contain many tragic sights, but we fear that this may have eclipsed them all – even Diane Abbott.
SNP whingebox Stephen Gethins held a debate yesterday to celebrate (yes, really) the 60th anniversary of the Treaty of Rome, lauding the “major contribution EU membership has had for us all” and asserting that “we’re in a better place” thanks to the faceless Brussels institutions. So much better that we decided to leave.
Only one other MP, the SNP’s Kirsten Oswald, turned up in her delusion specs and observed that the debate was “incredibly powerful”. Poor Brexit Minister Robin Walker was only there because he had to respond on behalf of the Government.
The SNP just don’t get it. They still think they are worth listening to even when nobody turns up.
