Jeremy Corbyn’s reluctant deputy Tom Watson yesterday threw a strop because he didn’t want to talk about immigration.
In an interview with Sky News, Watson said it was “unfair” to be asked what Labour’s policy on immigration because he does not know if they have one – a charge which he said was “a fair point”.
This wasn’t his or Calamity Corbyn’s fault, said Tom, but actually Theresa May’s because “we don’t even know what [her] negotiating position is” on free movement. Except she has. She wants to end it.
One would have thought that after a third of Labour voters backed Brexit, its policy would be ‘less is more’ – but at this rate, the only number that will be going down is the number of Labour MPs.
