The envious Left united yesterday to pour scorn on a man selling a business he had worked hard to set up. It just so happens that the man was a Tory Health Secretary, which is disgraceful.
Jeremy Hunt set up his online education business Hotcourses in 1996, and after some graft and enterprise, has sold the company – with his share netting him just over £14 million. So what? No matter Hunt’s faults, who are the Left to preach about private enterprise?
On cue, they appeared in force to condemn this act – one Labour MP yelled that “these Tories truly live in a different world” while bearded dinosaur Paul Flynn snarled “this is what the Tories call the shared society: a top Tory’s share is a £15million bonanza and millions of sick and disabled share a loss of £30 weekly income”.
Making the Left foam at your success? What an incentive to start a business…
