BBC journalists are threatening strike action against cuts in their taxpayer-funded meals.
Hungry hacks’ evening meal allowances are being cut from £16 a pop to £10 – the latest crackdown on bloated Beeb bills amid a drive to save £800 million a year.
A furious National Union of Journalists reports that BBC staff say the cut to expenses “will mean they will be subsidising the BBC from their own wages.”
It is nice to see that the austerity drive is reaching the parts other drives never reach.
At this rate we can look forward to a slimmed down Beeb. About time.
