A student has been accused of violating university ‘safe space’ rules because she raised her hand.
Imogen Wilson, also an officer of Edinburgh University’s Student’s Association, was taking part in a student council meeting when she received a “safe space complaint” for “inappropriate hand gestures”.
Quite rightly, Imogen thinks that safe spaces are being hijacked as “a tool for the hard Left to use when they disagree with people”. However, this clearly counters the junta’s – sorry, the student council’s – policy of “refraining from hand gestures which denote disagreement”, or “in any other way indicating disagreement with a point or points being made”.
Unfortunately, this tale seems to be just the tip of the iceberg, with universities now becoming hotbeds of PC domination, clearly allergic to free speech and disagreement.
Of course, if the dominant views were to the Right of the spectrum, this would not be the case.
