Jumping on his latest bandwagon, Owen Jones has produced one of his off-the-cuff articles, entitled Theresa May has serious questions to answer, starting with police cuts – denouncing the Prime Minister over cuts in police numbers. He believes this is wrong.
Is this the same Owen Jones whose recent book The Establishment has this gem of a quote?
“And the authoritarian establishment had granted the police sweeping powers to crack down on radical dissent; it had led to the sort of operations that might seem more appropriate to an East German-style police state. But it would not only be protesters who would suffer at the hands of this renewed authoritarianism.”
Jones doesn’t seem to be too happy that we are no longer living in a “police state”, thanks to the “cuts”, and human rights legislation. Nowadays, he seems to want it back.
Make your mind up Owen!
