THERE is a wealth of information available on the insidious aims of Black Lives Matter (BLM), which include defunding the police, eradicating the traditional nuclear family and establishing a socialist state. Ignorance is no excuse.
Yet BLM are still granted legitimacy by the highest cultural and political echelons on both sides of the Atlantic. Many, such as the BBC, Sir Keir Starmer, Yorkshire Tea, the National Trust and the Premier League, continue to support and even fund those who would destroy them. Bill Gates gave over £1.1million to BLM and five black justice groups.
After being booed by fans some sports organisations have finally realised that supporting BLM was not the good idea it seemed in the summer. In an attempt to distance themselves from the neo-Marxist ideologies of BLM, these clueless cheerleaders for race hustlers said they don’t support BLM as an organisation but they do support ‘the message’. Their collective cognitive dissonance is transparently foolish. Bending the knee and wearing an armband with the BLM emblem shows allegiance to BLM, despite protestations to the contrary. It’s like wearing a swastika, giving the ‘Heil Hitler’ salute and then protesting that you don’t support the Nazis as an organisation but still admire their message of ‘kill the Jews’ (something which BLM are no strangers to).
In their eagerness to signal their ‘anti-racist’ woke credentials, the MSM here and in the US conveniently neglect to report on BLM’s anti-Semitism. It’s doubtful that many would know that during the holiday of ‘Shavuot’ in May BLM unleashed pogroms on the Jews of Los Angeles. Attacking Jewish-owned shops and synagogues, they shouted ‘f*ck the police and kill the Jews’. One rabbi described the BLM riots as ‘Kristallnacht all over again’. This is what Jews experienced for decades in the Pale of Settlement. It is horrifying that in the 21st century they still are.
This particular pogrom was led by Melina Abdullah, co-founder of BLM and admirer of the racist Louis Farrakhan and his Nation of Islam. Farrakhan has called Jews ‘termites’ and Abdullah complained about ‘Zionists’ (i.e. Jews) taking part in the Women’s March. Yet Abdullah and her coterie are feted by the elite, making BLM unstoppable both politically and in capturing the public cultural narrative on racism. Perhaps Dawn French should have considered the Los Angeles pogroms before she knelt in front of a BLM poster during the recent BBC broadcast of The Vicar of Dibley.
Given that we have equal rights enshrined in law both here and in the US, BLM and their enablers are preaching to the wrong crowd. The front pages of newspapers have only so much room and they devote that to bashing the West. Real victims of racism and xenophobia elsewhere are ignored. The plight of black Christian girls kidnapped by Islamists in Nigeria or the black slaves and their white Arab masters in Mauritania and Libya is barely whispered in the MSM. Surely their lives matter too? But their suffering continues, all because our political class and cultural elite prefer to promote the hectoring BLM propaganda on what awful racists we all are in the West.
Hollywood has joined in too. I suspect that few people will want to watch television series and films in which they are lectured on how dreadfully racist they are. But this hasn’t stopped Warner Bros Television Group giving BLM founder Patrisse Cullors a much-vaunted deal to make programmes for them. Despite living in what she claims to be the most racist country on earth, Cullors has certainly done well for herself. She might wish to dismantle capitalism but she is still taking full advantage of it. Like most socialists she is a hypocrite.
Not ones to miss out on publicising their ‘progressive’ credentials, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are set to produce a documentary on Cullors as part of their $100million Netflix deal.
That Meghan Markle is ‘hugely inspired’ by Cullors, a trained Marxist, speaks volumes about this vapid woman. Given Markle’s influence on young people she should worry about being complicit in setting up the next generation to conveniently ignore anti-Semitism in the name of ‘anti-racism’. We can expect the woke lecture from hell when the Sussexes broadcast their Netflix project. For this championing of the BLM Jew-haters, the Duke and Duchess should be stripped of their titles.
Nor is a Democratic presidential win enough for BLM, as I warned before. Cullors is ‘looking forward’ to pressurising the Biden/Harris administration into adopting more ‘progressive policies’. They will continue to riot until they’ve established their socialist state.
Here in Britain, BLM have applied to the electoral commission to set up their own political party. BLM UK say they are not affiliated with this new political group but that is irrelevant. The name is the same, as is the ideology. Voters will be drawn to, or repelled by, the BLM political party on that basis. Corbynistas will certainly be attracted to their anti-Israel dogma.
Every time a footballer takes the knee or a wealthy corporation pledges millions to BLM, they are offering a free pass to anti-Semites and legitimising their stature in society. How sad that 75 years after the Holocaust it still pays to hate Jews.
