Newsflash: Javid out, Gove up to second

SAJID Javid has been eliminated from the Tory leadership race and Michael Gove has overtaken Jeremy Hunt. Boris Johnson secured 157 votes, Gove 61 and Hunt 59 in today’s latest round, putting the latter pair in a battle for the crucial second place.

If Gove makes it to the final two we’ll be seeing old battles replayed – remembering that his decision to stand for the leadership in 2016 effectively torpedoed Johnson’s campaign then.

Have old wounds healed and will they be able to rise above their past grievances?
