NICK Booth has many fans amongst our readers on TCW, not least for his recent acerbic and disturbing, yet comedic and infinitely humane, accounts of his experiences as a cancer patient on the NHS front line, where the police can be a permanent fixture, as well as for his talent for satirising the BBC and the rest of the self-righteous woke.
Yesterday he featured in the Mail on Sunday with an uncharacteristically serious account of his introduction to hospice life and care – a far cry from the ‘Maydie’ hospital he’s been at the mercy of till now.
It is a wonderful, moving and heartwarming piece which restores hope in humanity. You can read it here – please do.
We’re willing St Christopher’s Hospice to do their damnedest for Nick – he deserves every minute of their care – and we are praying it will make all the difference to his health, wellbeing and, yes, recovery.
