I went out shopping with my mum this morning. I always do. I noticed a number of things that were different from usual.
Firstly it was extremely quiet in the shops, except for the Post Office where I got my mum’s pension for her. I had to line up there but no hassle and no one mentioned anything about my not wearing a mask.
I also noticed a larger number of people wearing masks haphazardly, under noses, around chins, wearing scarves, I even saw a number without masks – like me with lanyards of various kinds and two without anything. No one challenged them.
In one shop, all the distancing rules were being ignored by shoppers and no one said anything. In another it was so quiet it made you wonder why they were open (ditto the supermarket too really) but the marshals were not there and no one spoke about wearing masks or not.
I was now the only one using sanitiser when we went in the shops (this happened in four different shops). I do it to clean the trolley for my mum, I don’t worry about myself. People were shopping in groups and pairs despite the rules that only one person from a family can go in a shop – no shops said anything, they let the people go round undisturbed. Unlike recently when the covid Karens have been mouthing off, no one made any comment about other shoppers at all.
I saw a number of cars pull up and people who clearly knew each other get out and cross to speak to each other. No social distancing. This is a departure where I live. The sheeple have religiously stuck to the rules like glue. They have done all asked of them and more but now, whilst still superficially seeming to keep the rules, it is clear they are not bothering about them at all. It’s very quiet. No one speaks, no one looks at another person and no one sees what is going on I suppose.
I am sure there are those cowering behind the sofa – they were not out today, they sat home. Today the non-conformists were out and about, I won’t say in force, but visible.
Edit: I live in a rural area but I have noticed in the last hour or so, most people seem to be living their lives and are not obeying the rules around their houses.
