This I think neatly sums up the problem with universities and their real principle function – not the pursuit of knowledge and its dissemination, but the cultivation of insanely arrogant ruling elites and the ideology needed to justify elites’ power over others.
‘ . . . all relationships are based on power’ – most people would beg to differ – they have real friends and acquaintances, people they love, and so on. For the sort of people found in the upper layers of society, however, that phrase is probably a truism.
