What explains this destruction of so much, fighting against an imaginary enemy? I attribute it to three things.
Top of the list is gross incompetence from the politicians who totally out of their depth, far more influenced by the hysteria of the mainstream media than the cold, hard facts of their own government statistics.
Then there’s the low-grade mainstream media that understands little and questions nothing, and as such is totally failing in its main task which should be to question those in power.
Lastly we have an unthinking, badly educated, innumerate and compliant population which, incredibly after the Brexit experience, still trusts government to do the best for all. The public, having largely lost faith in God or even the value of self-reliance, has been mollycoddled by the state, to which it now looks for protection, guidance and direction.
Most people are still largely unaware of how much devastation the economy is suffering and the mounting death toll that is approaching due to the deliberate neglect of non-Covid patients. I also fear that there will not be a day of reckoning as it will all be hushed up and not investigated by a compliant, low-grade media.
