Poison for the soul – Scruton on pop music


I trust you are enjoying the links to some of my classical music favourites every Sunday. With that in mind, this video by conservative godfather Sir Roger Scruton caught my attention.

Sir Roger describes the daily assault that we are all subjected to when pop music is pumped out into public spaces. It is, he says, ‘pollution that poisons not the body but the soul’.

The truth is that politics is important, but the culture trumps politics every time.
