In response to Andrew Cadman: May’s gender agenda reveals the truth about the parasitic Tories, springmellon wrote:
The quality of the writers for Conservative Woman is excellent. Thank you for this piece, and the team at CW for the website.
I agree with everything you said aside from the wisdom of the Tories pursing ‘progressive’, Leftist policies in the current political climate.
I think there is a massive fatigue among voters, particularly Tory voters, with these failed ideologies and their destructive effects on Britain. Reading the comments sections of the conservative-leaning websites, there was unanimous condemnation, exasperation and anger in response to Mrs May’s foray into the fake gender pay gap issue.
The Tories have alienated their base for years and they dutifully continued to vote Tory anyway. However, the Tories’ betrayal of Brexit strikes at the very heart of many Tory voters and I believe there are a great number of people who can no longer bring themselves to support the party any more.
The adoption of the Leftist, ‘progressive’ agenda might get the Tories some new voters, but its destructive effect on a support base that is already turning against the Tories will make that gain inconsequential.
