In response to Nick Booth: To Boldly Stay: Captain Picard the EU Cling-On, Daniel wrote:
Patrick Stewart played two roles on Star Trek. One was Captain Jean-Luc Picard, a Frenchman who commanded the flagship of a utopian ‘United Federation of Planets’ and hunted down freedom fighters such as the Maquis. The other was Loctus of Borg (ie Picard when assimilated), a drone of the Borg Collective. Is it any wonder the fellow is now stuck repeating the EU broken record ‘You shall be assimilated, your culture shall adapt to service us, resistance is futile’?
