In response to Kathy Gyngell: Lawson, the BBC and how Ofcom takes bias to a whole new level, John Standley wrote:

It would be interesting to know how this complaint was initiated – any complainant approaching Ofcom directly will be rebuffed and told to use the BBC internal complaints system first. Only after this path has run its tortuous course will Ofcom have a reluctant second look. This one appears to have been fast-tracked.
